EchoDICOM Applications Privacy Policy

1. Introduction and Scope

Welcome to the EchoDICOM applications, developed by Filipe José Costa Marinho Ribeiro (the "Developer," "we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in relation to your use of our mobile applications, and it applies identically to all of them (each, the "Application"; together, the "Applications"):

• EchoDICOM Calc — a set of echocardiography calculators.
• EchoDICOM Calc – Diástole 2025 — assessment of left ventricular diastolic function per the ASE 2025 guideline.
• EchoDICOM Calc – Próteses valvares — assessment of prosthetic valves per the ASE 2024 guideline.
• EchoDICOM Calc – Estenose aórtica — assessment of aortic valve stenosis (coming soon to the stores).

Our commitment is to your privacy. The Applications are medical calculators designed to assist healthcare professionals, and we do not intend to collect personal data from their users.

By using any of the Applications, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. Data Collection and Use

The Applications do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable data from their users. You do not need to provide any personal information to use the basic functionalities of the Applications.

Data that stays on your device. The values you type into the calculators and your usage preferences (for example, the options on the settings screen and the acknowledgement of the first-use notice) are kept only in the device's own local storage, so that the Application works across screens and across sessions. This data is not sent to us or to any third party, never leaves the device, and is erased when you use the option to clear the data, when you uninstall the Application, or when you clear the Application's data from the system settings.

The Applications themselves does not have any third-party code, tools, or SDKs (Software Development Kits) integrated for the purpose of actively tracking or collecting specific usage data or personal information from your device beyond what is described in this policy. The Applications do not request access to the camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, or any other data on the device.

3. Aggregated and Anonymous Data from App Stores

To understand how the Application is used and identify areas for improvement, the Developer may access reports and dashboards provided by application distribution platforms (such as Google Play Console and Apple App Store Connect). These reports contain aggregated and anonymous data about the Application's activity, such as:

• Number of installations and uninstallations.
• Crash statistics (crash reports) and "Application Not Responding" (ANR) errors.
• Aggregated and anonymous demographic data (e.g., country of users).
• General engagement metrics (e.g., number of active users, user retention).

This data is provided in an aggregated and anonymous form by the app stores themselves and does not allow for the identification of individual users. The purpose of analyzing this information is purely for statistical purposes, to improve the functionality, performance, and user experience of the Applications.

4. Paid Applications and In-App Purchases

Some Applications are paid on the store itself (a one-time purchase at download) and others may offer additional features or content through optional in-app purchases ("In-App Purchases"). What follows applies to both cases.

• Payment Processing: All transactions — both the purchase of a paid Application and In-App Purchases — are securely processed directly by the respective app store platforms (Google Play Store or Apple App Store).
• No Access to Sensitive Payment Data: The Developer does not collect, access, process, or store any sensitive payment information, such as credit card numbers, bank account information, or billing addresses. This information is collected and managed exclusively by the Google Play Store or Apple App Store platforms, according to their own privacy policies and terms of service.
• Purchase Confirmation: We may receive confirmation from the app stores that a purchase has been completed (e.g., a purchase token or a non-identifiable receipt) to enable the unlocking of the purchased content or functionality within the Application. This confirmation does not include your personal payment data.
• Purchase Restoration: The ability to restore previous purchases is generally managed by the app store platforms, which may maintain a record of your purchase history for this purpose, as per their policies.

5. Third-Party Services and Policies (Store Platforms)

It is important to note that the application distribution platforms themselves (Google Play Store and Apple App Store), which also process In-App Purchases, may collect data according to their own privacy policies and terms of service. This data is collected and managed by Google and Apple, respectively, and not by the Developer of the Applications. We recommend that you review the privacy policies of these platforms:

6. Security

As the Applications do not collect, store, or transmit personal data from users, and payment data is managed by the store platforms, the risks associated with data breaches originating directly from the Applications are minimized. The security of aggregated and anonymous data provided by app stores and the security of payment transactions are managed by the respective platforms (Google and Apple).

7. Children's Privacy

The Applications are intended for medical professionals and healthcare students. Although the content of the Applications is not intrinsically sensitive or prohibited for any age group, it is not directed at children under 13 years of age (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. In-App Purchases should be made by adults or with the consent of the app store account holder. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, or that a purchase was improperly made by a child, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. We recommend that you review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
